This Privacy Policy describes how PvP Land ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website, game servers, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1 Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Minecraft Identity Data - When you play on PvP Land, we use your Minecraft username and UUID to associate gameplay statistics with your public profile. The website does not offer login or profile-claiming functionality.
  • Support Requests - If you contact us via Discord or our support system, we may collect any information you voluntarily share in that communication.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Gameplay Statistics - When you play on PvP Land servers, we record match outcomes, ratings, win/loss records, streaks, and related performance data.
  • IP Addresses - We log IP addresses for security purposes, including ban enforcement and fraud prevention. These are not shared publicly.
  • Service and Security Data - Game infrastructure may record connection timestamps, in-game chat where applicable, and enforcement events. Website requests process technical information such as an IP address and requested path for delivery, security, and rate limiting. The website does not use behavioral analytics.
  • Preference Cookie - We use one first-party cookie to remember your light/dark theme preference. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and the website does not store this preference in local storage.

2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the game servers, website, and leaderboards.
  • Display public player profiles, statistics, and rankings.
  • Enforce our Rules and community standards, including investigating and actioning reports of misconduct.
  • Detect cheating, ban evasion, and other forms of abuse.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve and develop new features.

3 Public Information & Leaderboards

PvP Land is a competitive community platform. The following information is publicly visible to anyone who visits the website:

  • Minecraft username and profile (skin, head).
  • Gameplay statistics: rating, wins, losses, win rate, and streaks.
  • Leaderboard rankings across all game modes.
  • Staff role and designation (for staff members).

If you do not wish for your statistics to be publicly visible, you should not play on PvP Land servers. We do not offer opt-outs from public leaderboard display for active players.

4 Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers - We use third-party infrastructure providers (hosting, databases) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements - We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

5 Third-Party Services

Our Services link to and integrate with third-party platforms. These services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their data practices:

  • Discord - Used for community communication and support.
  • Mojang / Microsoft - Minecraft account services and player identity.
  • Google Fonts - Provides website font files; your browser may connect to Google when loading a page.
  • MCStats - Provides Minecraft skin renders to our server-side image proxy. Visitor browsers request those images from PvP Land rather than directly from MCStats.
  • Our store (store.pvp.land) - Processed by a third-party payment provider with its own privacy policy.

6 Data Retention

We retain gameplay statistics and Minecraft identity data indefinitely as part of the competitive record of the platform. IP logs and security data are retained for a period sufficient for enforcement purposes, typically 12 months. If you wish to request deletion of your data, see the Contact section below.

7 Children's Privacy

PvP Land is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information. Users under 18 should obtain parental consent before using our Services.

8 Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Significant changes may be announced via our Discord server.
